How to save iPhone battery life under iOS 7?
Apple’s new mobile operating system iOS 7 adds a degree of dynamism, improved multitasking and enhanced connectivity over its predecessor. As a result, the new iOS proves to be more energy-hungry and many users have found it drains the iPhone battery faster.
Whether you are running iOS 7 on a primordial iPhone 4 (attention this must be slow) or on a brand new iPhone 5s or 5c, there are ways to save iPhone battery life and get the precious extra minute, hour, or more before having to recharge the device.
Remember – in most cases, the rate of iPhone battery drain depends on how you use the iPhone on a daily basis and what iPhone features you have enabled. Follow the tips below in order to extend the iPhone battery life between recharging sessions.

Battery life and iOS 7 features
iOS 7 adds a number of built-in functions which may increase the strain on your iPhone battery. While some of these features such as AirDrop could prove useful. Others, such as dynamic wallpapers or even automatic app updates are not essential and when disabled can save energy and hence battery life.
Disable automatic app updates
You can choose to automatically update apps to the latest version without having to manually access the App Store. This is a great improvement in iOS 7 over its predecessor. Automatic app updates, however, are counterproductive when it comes to preserving iPhone battery life. You can disable automatic app updates by navigating to: Settings > iTunes & App Store and turning off Updates under “Automatic Downloads”

Turn off ‘Background App Refresh’
When connected to the Internet via WiFi or cellular, apps running in the background can automatically refresh their content or use Location Services. Disabling this feature will help improve battery life.

Dynamic wallpapers
iOS 7 includes a set of animated wallpapers available for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. While this is a great way to add a stunning new look to your iPhone’s Home or Lock screens, it adds up to the list of features draining iPhone battery quicker. Be sure to be using a still- rather than a dynamic- wallpaper for both the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. To do so, navigate to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper and tap on “Stills” or select a photo from one of your iPhone albums.

Disable AirDrop when not in use
AirDrop is a new way, introduced with iOS 7, to share mobile data such as photos, documents and contacts between iOS devices. AirDrop uses your WiFi and Bluetooth radio and makes your iPhone discoverable to other iOS users around you. You can disable AirDrop and only use it when you need it.
To disable AirDrop, access the Control Center by swiping your finger from the bottom up. Next, tap AirDrop > Off. You can always enable AirDrop by tapping on the “Contacts Only” or “Everyone” options whenever you need to.

Reduce motion in iOS 7
iOS 7 comes with a noticeable wallpaper motion effect called Parallax. The feature creates an effect of 3D depth and is produced by the shift of your Home/Lock Screen wallpaper to the left, right, bottom or top depending on how the phone is moved (handled).
This could be a cool feature but adds up to the iPhone battery life problems so we recommend to keep it reduced. To reduce Parallax effect, navigate to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion > ON.

Limit ad tracking
iOS 7 also features targeted in-app adds based on an a device-specific advertising identifier. iPhone apps access the advertising identifier saved on your iPhone in order to provide you with targeted adds. This is a non-essential feature which you can quickly disable by navigating to Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking > ON
